No Rehearsal on Thur, but SAT!!!! (Open Rehearsal Sat 20th)

March 17th, 2010|Posted by Naveen Arles in Choir, Instrumentalists, Sectionals (Choir)

REMINDER: NO choir this week (Mar 18th). But we DO have the first of the applicant day open rehearsals.

This will be on Saturday, Mar 20th, at City in the Goulston Street Law building, 14.15-16.00ish. Bring yourselves and music/lyrics. If you’ve never been before tag along with others or arrange to meet at Aldgate station’s 1 exit at 14.00. You could even come along and sing at the London Youth Gospel Choir rehearsal 11-1 at North and then head down with me. I’ll be leaving Tower Building Reception at 13.30.

If you make sure you come along, you’ll be singing something that’s a bit of a surprise and considering our group, you’ll very much enjoy!

I’m very sorry that choir isn’t on on Thur. I wouldn’t normally ever cancel choir but as I’m doing a musical thing and it’s only this one week earlier on in term, I hope you won’t mind.

Also! Remember, that the week after back on our normal Thur eve, I’m attempting to get the film guy at the rehearsal and it will be recorded!!

Help me… Help you!!! HELP ME… HELP YOU!!!!!

November 29th, 2009|Posted by Naveen Arles in Choir, Instrumentalists, Sectionals (Choir)

This is going to be some week.  I know people are handing things in and getting ready for some serious assessments.  But this is why a balanced work ethic, so that your term doesn’t suddenly turn into an evil giant amount of pressure (says ‘Last-Minute-Nav’!!), is important.

You all have to know, you are proving yourselves to be one of the most dedicated and strong choirs we have had.  But this week, that’s going to be put to the test.

So, help me to help you.  Make sure, if you’re unsure of any parts or words, that you get to the site and get them.  If you have any issues with any of it, get intouch.  You know I’ll be impossible to get ahold of on the phone and won’t get back to you straight away but for the next two days I am all about this Tuesday night thing!  So I WILL get back to you.

Remember, if you can make it to the Rocket Courtyard from 4pm onwards, then get down there.  We’ll need to have some kind of soundcheck and you can help out.  It’s also your excuse to have another sneak practice before we go on!

Where to go to learn the stuff:  www.naveenarles.com/LondonMet/Choir

Choir prepare:  Lacrimosa; Guys’n'Dolls Medley; Man in the Mirror; Carol of the Bells (in that order!)

ChoirLite prepare: White Christmas; Air on a G String; I Wish I Knew (all 4 verses); Lacrimosa (in that order, and we’re first on the stage, so let’s make sure we’re really happy with all the parts…  Lacrimosa…  Hint, Hint…)
