This is one of the key services to assist you in your studies. The following online IT services are available to enable you to take full advantage of the libraries:
- Catalogue – to search for available books, articles, etc, and their location and availability.
- Reservations – to request that the library holds a title until you can collect it. If the title is on loan you will be notified when it is returned.
- Renewals – to renew items that you have borrowed.
You will require your ICT Account ID and password to use these services.
In addition each Library has self service machines that enable library users to borrow and return books and other loan items. You will require your ID card to use this service.
You may pay any fines you have incurred online; just click here.
Each library is staffed by specialist Librarians from each of the University’s Faculties. They provide help and support and run frequent ‘Information Literacy’ courses on a classroom and drop-in basis; to help you gain the skills necessary to do effective research using the libraries’ resources. They additionally maintain web pages of the most relevant resources within the Library Service and on the wider web for the Faculty courses they specialise in. For further information see Info literacy specialists.
