Changes to Tier 4 student visa immigration rules

The UK Border Agency announced changes on 10th February that will come into force on 3rd March 2010. These changes will not affect students studying foundation degrees, or courses at degree level or above. The changes are aimed at students studying below degree level. These changes are:

- These students will only be able to work 10 hours per week
- If they are studying courses 6 months or less they will not be able to bring dependants with them
- Their dependants will be banned from working in the UK (unless they have a different kind of working visa)

These changes do not affect students taking foundation degree courses or Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree courses. For full details visit the UK Border Agency’s website.
