Afternoon Tea for Young Mums
Wednesday 27th November
4pm until 5.30pm
TM1-47 red zone
- Studying whilst also being a Mother (under the age of 30)
- Making a good start: A space to think about your confidence in a new environment.
Come for a cup of tea and meet other young mums and Kerri Park, who has a special interest in thinking about young mothers. Kerri thinks that:
“Coming into a new environment such as university can feel very daunting, and even more so when ‘multi-tasking’. This can be the same for those who excelled at previous educational experiences, those who found them challenging or those returning to study after an absence.”
You may note that our level of confidence can have a huge impact on all sorts of aspects of our lives, from our physical appearance to how we sleep at night. Kerri will be thinking about what self-confidence is and what kind of confidence leads people to try difficult things and persist in the face of setbacks.
Are you interested in meeting new people and trying out new things? Please put Wednesday 27th November 2013, 4pm – 5.30pm in your diary now and e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org in the Counselling Service to let her know that you are coming so we know how many cups to provide.
