Life Under Occupation
Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights Student Network are hosting a film screening of 5 Broken Cameras followed by a talk and Q&A on the impact of Israel’s occupation on life in the West Bank. Following the event there will be a drinks reception.
Nominated for an Oscar, 5 Broken Cameras is a first-hand account of life and non-violent resistance in Bil’in, a West Bank village where Israel is building a security fence. The film follows a child’s growth from a newborn baby into a young boy who observes the world unfolding around him. Our speaker, Sabrina Tucci, worked as a human rights monitor in Hebron, where she witnessed the effect of the annexation wall and illegal settlements on the lives of Palestinians in the West Bank.
