Barnardo’s Autumn 2016 Volunteer Internship Scheme

Barnardo’s Volunteer Internship scheme involves a 12 week voluntary placement in one of Barnardo’s offices or children’s services. We run the scheme three times a year: in spring, summer and autumn and offer a variety of different placements including: Corporate Fundraising, Events, Policy and Research, Communications and many, many more! As well as being based in our Head Office in East London, we have a wide range of opportunities based in our offices and children’s services across the UK. All of our opportunities are available on both a full time and part time basis.

Reception Volunteer

Our reception volunteers are key ambassadors for the charity and work side-by-side with paid staff; without their dedication and support we could not operate.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in working in this field, wants to do something in their community and would like to support a busy charity. No prior knowledge or experience is needed, just a willingness to work, learn and develop.

Strategy And Innovation Intern

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and original thinking intern to lead a vital project within the fundraising directorate that will help to put the strategy into action in 2016/17. The role will sit within the Strategy and Innovation team which work closely with Fundraising, and the wider organisation.

Barnardo’s Volunteer

Working behind the scenes is as important as being on stage! As a Stock Room Volunteer, your key role will be to make sure that quality stock is made ready to go on sale in the store.
Running a successful Barnardo’s store requires a great team of enthusiastic volunteers and you could be part of it!  We also have opportunities working within our children’s services where you get to work on grass route levels with the beneficiaries. This also includes care leavers who will be going on to becoming a fulfilling adult.

Live Chat Volunteer

This is an exciting opportunity to support the National Autistic Society’s busy and vibrant national Autism Helpline and Supporter Relations team. In exchange for your help, we will provide ongoing supervision, support and training throughout your role. As a live chat volunteer, you will spend your time using our online chat technology to guide our web visitors to the information they need on our website. You will also be signposting to, and making appointments over the phone with the appropriate specialists or advice teams within our charity.
