Join our team of dedicated Information Service volunteers and support our duty staff to deal with enquiries from local older people, professionals and also families and carers. The role involves dealing with clients calls transferred by the duty staff teams to assist with their Information and Advice enquiries.
Join our Information team as a receptionist for the Contact Centre, welcoming clients, having a chat and directing them to the relevant advisors. The role will also have some light admin duties including research into other services to support duty staff team members. This is an important role in supporting the team to inform staff of who has arrived for a meeting or an advice session as it can get busy during drop-in days.
Join our Carers Hub volunteer team to help with answering enquiries, and sign-posting clients to other services and organisations. This role would also involve supporting the Carers Hub staff with setting up meetings, and attending Quarterly support groups. You need to be confident using computers, answering the phone and learning new information
Take a central role in Age UK Islington’s Prevention Strategy which focuses on our clients’ wellbeing and make a tangible difference to older people in the borough. We have provided various levels of support to well over 2000 Islington residents in the last 4 years. The Prevention service is designed for our clients to be contacted proactively to see ‘How they are’ and ‘how they are doing’.
Help us support an older person to regain some independence. This volunteer role is a distinctive element of the Enablement Service, which supports Islington residents aged 55+ struggling to manage at home, at risk of being admitted to hospital, or, just discharged from hospital
Provide 1:1 IT tutorials to older adult learners. You will need to be confident teaching how to send emails, use the internet. You may also be asked how to use ipads & tablets, laptops etc.

Age UK Islington Activity service runs a varied and busy programme of activities across the borough. It is vital that we accurately record attendances and client information on our database to enable us to contact clients about future events and ensure our mailing list is kept up to date. It is also essential for us to run reports to continuously monitor and improve the service as well as for reporting purposes. This role would involve entering data of activities attendances and new clients on our database and helping with the mail out for our Activity programme on Excel.
