East London Business Alliance (ELBA) through  London Metropolitan University Careers and Employability Service is offering London Met students the following opportunities:

1)   Mock Interviews with Credit Suisse- closing date  Friday 9th February 2018

  • Don’t miss this opportunity to participate in the mock (practice) interview sessions with Credit Suisse (Canary Wharf branch) employees from various fields. Refine your interview skills and receive feedback on your interview technique.

  • Find out what employers are looking for, practice what to do in an interview situation, get useful interview tips

  • Experience a corporate environment (Canary Wharf) and receive valuable feedback
    Dates available for the mock interview are Friday 2nd, Tues 6th, Wed 7th, Thur 8th and Friday 9th March 2018

  • The interview will last for 1-hour (including feedback)

2) CV Surgery – Deadline to submit CVs is Friday 16th March 2018

•In a competitive job market, your CV is your first chance to make a great impression on a potential employer. ELBA’s CV Surgery aims to help you to get past the first hurdle by reviewing your CV and providing you with valuable feedback on all the ways that can be improved.

•The CV Surgery project will get your CV checked by a business volunteer from one of ELBA’s corporate member companies (eg Citi, Credit Suisse) and you will receive a feedback report on your CV, find out what works well, areas you can improve before you tailor it for a specific job

If you would like the opportunity to have feedback on your CV, please

a) email an updated copy of your CV in Microsoft Word format; adding the following subject field – ‘‘CV Surgery’’ to educationworks@elba-1.org.uk

b) You will also need to ensure that the following information is included in the body of your email: Your Full Name Mobile Number Student ID number University Course and School

3) Get your LinkedIn profile to a professional level
