Transition Workshop; 28 February 2018

Transition is an employability workshop designed to support engineering students across all UK Universities into the world of work.

 The workshop features:

·         CV Clinics

·         Individual Mock Interviews from Industry Professionals

·         Mock Assessment Centre including psychometric tests and role plays

·         Unique opportunity to secure Work Placements

·         Industry Expert Panel and Networking Reception

AFBE-UK have collaborated with London South Bank University to bring the first Transition workshop for this year. Details of the workshop are as follows:

 Date: Wednesday 28th February 2018

Time: 1pm – 7pm

Venue: London South Bank University, 103 Borough Rd, London SE1 0AA

The workshop is FREE to attend and is OPEN TO ALL students from all year groups (including recent graduates) and aims to demystify the engineering industry by providing a realistic lens on what is required to be employed and work in the engineering sector.

Students will be provided with feedback on their CVs and performances during the interview and assessment centre to help identify and highlight errors they could potentially make at various stages in the job application process as well as better understand the skills and competencies required to work in a simulated engineering project environment. This approach is employed with a view of bridging the gap between industry and academia in a way that shapes the expectations of prospective graduates with little or no prior project experience. More importantly, there will be the opportunity for students to network and meet with professionals at Bloomberg with the chance to secure a placement.
