A Careers Discovery Day will be held at the London Metropolitan Archives (LMA) on Friday 16 March 2018, 2 – 5pm.
This free event will explore the diverse and significant collections held at LMA, while encouraging careers discussion. It is aimed to upper KS3, KS4 and college students and those looking for information about careers in the heritage sector.
Teachers and tutors are welcome to come along with groups of students.
By hearing from specialists across various LMA’s departments you will have the opportunity to hear about the exciting work happening behind the scenes, explore the latest developments in the archive world and find out what the future looks like for archives and their staff. There will be an opportunity for questions afterwards.
Questions to explore will include:
- What happens in a modern archive?
- What qualifications do I need?
- What about internships or work experience placements?
- Can you give me any practical tips?
- How do I get started in the heritage and archive world?
