Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP) to help students from underrepresented backgrounds

SEO London is a charity that helps students from underrepresented backgrounds (ethnic minorities, low socio-mobility as well as females) break into top industries. They have partnered with the Royal Academy of Engineering to run the Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP) for the past 4 years with the aim to increase diversity and inclusion across the engineering profession.

The Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP) of 2019 is scheduled to happen in Sept-Nov 2019 (dates and venues TBC).

This 2-day event is FREE for students to attend and are designed to give participants a good insight into the engineering industry and equip them with the necessary skills to tackle the application process for a role within engineering. Students will be required to attend both days of the events they are selected for.

There will be a series of workshops focusing on strengthening CVs, helping participants ace competency interviews, group exercises as well as technical interviews.

Additionally, participants will get the chance to speed network with representatives from up to 16 partner firms including AECOM, Amey, Arup, Atkins, BAE Systems, Network Rail and many other world class engineering firms.

The GEEP is open to students of all years of study as well as recent graduates studying relevant degrees for the engineering industry. In last year’s cohort alone, close to 30 students successfully received internship/placements offers off the back of attending these events.

Information on how to apply can be found at : http://bit.ly/GEEP2018 – students are encouraged to register with SEO London who will let them know when the GEEP 2019 events are open for application.
