Google: where has ‘Advanced Search’ gone?

Google have not done away with their advanced search feature, so no need to be academically outraged. The feature has been tucked away under the cogwheel symbol (top right corner of Google home page) , just click ‘advanced search’ in the drop-down list.

Advanced searching is useful for narrowing searches, or eliminating irrelevant results. The ‘usage rights’ filter is handy for finding licensed material to re-use. Want to know how to use wildcards? Take a look at theĀ  more search help page.
