“Pantone: The 20th Century in Color”

Pantone imageThis New Book available from Commercial Road Library is an exploration of colour trends in design during each decade of the last century.

The Pantone company was the pioneer of colour categorisation and their numbering system is the standard for the design profession today.

Each decade is represented with colour palettes and themes for example;1970s avocado and harvest gold hues and ice cream tones of 1950s movie goddesses. A useful and attractive read for a deeper understanding of the influence of fine art and cultural trends on colour.
