The Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design will be hosting friends, alumni and partners as a special thank you for our 300 years in the making. As a new Faculty in 2012, we are commemorating 50 years since the opening of the London College of Furniture (LCF). We will be celebrating on Thursday, 27th November 2014.
Doors open at 9:30am:
The first half of the day will explore the rich heritage of the LCF, including eminent speakers such as the former principal of the LCF, Peter Metcalf and Cliff Rust, Chairman of the Frederick Parker Collection.
The afternoon presentations will examine how education and industry are currently working together for the common future at the CASS. Speakers include the Dean of the CASS, Professor Robert Mull and former PVC of the University of the Creative Arts, Professor Paul Coyle.
After the symposium, we invite you to join us at the VIP opening of the London College of Furniture exhibition. The exhibition will comprise of LCF alumni, students, lecturers, designers and craftpersons who were present during those exciting years as well as contemporary practitioners who have gone on to lead their field.
The day will be a meeting place for friends & colleagues to share and celebrate the impact of the London College of Furniture in its entirety. This ‘once in a lifetime’ event should not to be missed.
