Women and the Architectural Association Conference

Women were first granted admission to the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London in 1917, and to commemorate this centenary they are holding an international conference at the Paul Mellon Centre.

The conference, which explores the context of women in architecture over the last 100 years, is over 3 days, 2nd – 4th November. See the programme here, which shows the impressive list of speakers taking part.

10 free places are available to students, see information here on how to apply but be quick as the closing date is 20th October. Otherwise tickets are available at a reduced rate for students.

As well as the conference there is also an exhibition in the AA Gallery  which further explores the story of Women at the AA, and also a book ‘Breaking the Mould: AA Women in Architecture 1917-2017′.  The exhibition continues until the 9th of November.
