Zines and small publishers fair

The small publishers fair is back today and tomorrow in Conway Hall, Holborn. A chance to peruse and buy books, zines and more by independent artists and designers (often directly from the artists themselves), the fair has been going since 2002 with established and emerging names in the small publishers world.

More zine action can be had this weekend at the National Theatre with ‘Creating Zines: Citizens Voices’ with artist  Sofia Niazi, where you can create your own zine exploring fact and falsehood, using news stories and a range of printed articles. We love the sound of this book ‘The Library Was’ by Sofia Niazi, all about libraries and revolutionary librarians (sadly sold out!). Tickets: £30 / £20 concessions / £7.50 students, Saturday 11th November 2pm at the National Theatre.

Don’t forget we hold our own artists book collection, at London Met Libraries (books and small publications made and produced by artists) in the Special Collections, with hundreds of unique and editioned works of art you can browse on open access in the reading room. Staff and students can just turn up during opening hours, but external visitors are advised to make an appointment.
